How do I manage different personalities in my team?

  • Observe the different ways people prefer to communicate.
  • Know who the introverts and extraverts are.
  • Give introverts time to answer questions and have information written down, also give them time to respond to questions.
  • Give extraverts an opportunity to share and communicate their thoughts, they like to talk then think then talk.
  • Give people who are detailed focussed a practical reason for thinking long term and big picture. A good question to ask is – what is this info going to be used for and the person who needs it what do they expect right now.
  • The people who delve into the theory and big picture approach, ask them to be open and curious about what they don’t know and what they haven’t considered.
